It's all here on Earth, imperfect and free — all I need is plentifully here. When I take it into my arms and receive with my heart, and stop evading the hard lesson. When I end shaming my pain, or shunning every life suffering. When I decide to see I wasn't born to rearrange the stars or chisel resolution out from a mountain of adversity, or respond to each day out of guilt or uncertainty. But to start seeing the abundance and breathe in the knowledge gained through living. To share my table and offer comfort beyond my door, and to allow love in to generously hold me. Through this, I learn to gladly give and joyously gain, and redefine the greatest awakening.
A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR MOTHERS
The motherhood journey is unlike anything you previously knew or could have imagined, brimming with moments of joy, wonder and discovery. At the same time, there are days or phases when you need just as much attention and devotion as you provide. There are times of overwhelm and bewilderment when you’re unable to meet your own needs or simply make sense of what you’re trying to accomplish.
Life as a parent is exhausting despite all the rewards. It’s no wonder if at the end of the day you collapse on the couch and zone out scrolling through reels —and without realizing it, an hour or more has passed. Maybe you regularly decompress with movie binging or YouTube videos. Or maybe you find you’re texting as a means of feeling connected and less isolated. The point is, technology offers a coping mechanism and a place to crash that isn’t necessarily beneficial to your overall health and wellness.
If you’re a mom and find yourself resonating, please consider giving yourself the gift of receiving nourishment, enrichment and most of all, guided support from someone who not only lives the path you’re traversing, but is trained in multiple practices, in addition to health and wellness expertise. Shayna Strauss is an amazing mentor and coach. This weekend she will be offering an exciting opportunity to step away from your screens as she guides you into a deepening, engaging interaction with a waiting world all around you.
Digital Detox with Shayna Strauss begins on Saturday, April 6th .
I have personally known Shayna to be an extraordinary listener and provider of wisdom and insight and I’m thrilled she has decided to extend her practice to helping many others by launching her newest program for mothers. Please visit her website to get all the details and register for your spot this week and be supported on a life- changing journey. You will emerge with new tools and a fresh take on how technology can be useful for you as you move forward with intention.

Sharing a poem with you…
PAINTED LADY
(TAKE TIME TO LIVE)
How long has it been since
your last confession?
When was the last moment
you admitted your worth
and reconciled with your mind...
Have you been creating a life,
or responding to circumstances?
Survival know-how compels you
to function and move, but I wonder
where you’ve been keeping
yourself these days.
Somewhere in the blur,
there you are.
Won’t you come out for a while
and take Time into your reflections,
into your movements,
your desires?
Time has a sweet spot
waiting for you, breathing
all its color and fragrance
into each organic thing.
Take time to plant a seed
and watch something grow.
And do you know how long
a painted lady lives?
Take time to watch her
single life clear from silk
cocoon until she breaks through
with stained glass wings;
then from flower to flower,
she tells her life story.
Take time to tend a garden.
Walk the shoreline.
Touch the moss.
To be with your dreams.
Take time to see yourself with kinder eyes.
Take time to make peace with your heart.
Take time to bathe in the fragrance
of lilac, just bloomed,
and savor the earthy scent
of the ground while it rains.
Take time to give bread
to your body, drink in the
sunlight and bathe
with the trees.
Take time to be nurtured.
To taste and see.
Eat plentifully
from the soul food
Time willingly brings.
Dear Friends, thank you for taking the time to visit WRITING THAT CHANGES YOU. While I’m thankful and blessed to live in a world where we are connected through technology, I’m also longing for the days I used to know before smart phones and social media. I hunger for the utterances of silent things, like the whispering of trees and the hours that pass quietly without a need to check messages or uploads and reels. I love the sound of natural beings, like children playing and the leaves sizzling in sunlight and listening to music and voices singing.
It’s okay to enjoy the conveniences we have today and delight in how connected it can make us feel at times. But please remember to nourish your soul with the sweetness of nature. Remember to go easy on yourself. You can’t solve all the stresses in life and you were not designed to manage every complicated feature of our ever-progressing technological world.
With love, care and kindness,
Susan
The poem says it all
I read your writings in little bits sometimes because they go straight to my heart I don’t want to overwhelm myself. Your writings teach me to remember the within- all that’s happening inside. It’s like a vitamin I knew I needed but I forgot. You describe a universal, soul experience with articulation that helps light up what is going on inside of everyone so they can remember and see.
